| “Finale” by Branden Parker I knew this day would come, I said, as it loomed overhead a bunch of people stood and stared, I guess they finally cared too late, with that look of surprise, and fear in their eyes I turned to see, what would become, of you and me huddle together and count the seconds now who would have thought this was how the boiling point was much too hot, it spilled over the edge of the pot with an ignorant persistence, have we justified our existence? no, we’ve wasted time and space, the human race there was nothing they could do even if I truly knew they would not believe now there’s nothing to do but grieve mountains burn and the oceans dry ashes fill the blackened sky a billion people wonder why all their loved ones had to die watch it helpless as it slips away, no hope for a better day all chances have been used, all help was refused now we realize, we can’t apologize abused our human rights, I guess we’re parasites and now we pay, for everything we’ve done |
