A Choice”
By Branden Parker

let it sink in, realize
I don’t see things through your eyes
a concept, easy to understand
sorry things didn’t go as planned

life’s so short, don’t be stressed
separate, from their social contest
open your mind, we’re truly free
abandon all your expectations of me

must everyone share the same fate?
are we forced to assimilate?
to rationalize such intolerance
one must plead total ignorance

pay attention, I won’t repeat
in the middle is where many meet
some though, choose to do things their own way
regardless of what the masses would say

days go by, no regrets
I will persist no matter how hard it gets
a happy life has not been wasted
a sweetness that you, my friend, have never tasted
A Choice
