“About Time”
by Branden Parker

wretched from weakened hands
more weight for the heart
draining all hope
no end, but a start
give up

just give up
on foolish dreams
hopelessness
fantasy
let it go
watch it die
fade to gray
the test of time
was failed

numb in the dark
one fleeting light
pointless pursuit
no wrong, only right
give up

abandon all, fight off tears,
then accept deepest fears
knowing now, there’s now way,
no chance to live to see the day
progress made, time’s a waste,
desperation, all in haste
ground gained, however tough,
it seems that all is not enough

life must persist
acceptance is key
take one last look
at what can never be
give up
About Time
